Our work over the past few decades has taken us on flights over Indonesia,
Singapore, Thailand, Burma, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, United Arab Emirates and
Sudan. Our current pilot crew has a total combined flyging experience of more than
156,000 flight hours.
On average, each pilot has logged approximately 6,500 hours of flight time, well
above the standard 1,000 hours to 1,500 hours usually required for flight insurance
coverage. Many of them hold the coveted Helicopter Association Interna-tional (HAI) Pilot
Safety Award given to commercial helicopter pilots who accumulate 5,000 consecutive flight
hours without accident or procedural violation of any kind.
Our experience with sling, onshore oil drilling and mining operations in these parts
of the world is also considerable.A typical operation would involve one or more of our helicopters to transport personnel and
equipment to a site deep in the jungles of Southeast Asia.
Once an initial clearing has been established, we carry in equipment, which can be reassembled
on site. We accomplish this task by flying such equipment, either as an internal
load or when conditions demand, as an external sling load. After the initial area is
prepared, we sling in the entire equipment that makes up a drilling platform: from rig to
derrick, including engines, mud tanks, pipes and casings, cement and all. And once the
platform is operational, we carry in fuels, supplies and provide transportation of personnel
for crew rotation purpose.
On long assignments, NUH often operates its
helicopters in support of thousands of personnel
working in difficult terrain conditions for months on
a stretch. On long engagements such as these,
our crews would eventually develop a special
bond with the customer, associating themselves
with the goals of the operations that they are
involved in, and therefore rendering their full cooperation.
